Samyak & MIT- WPU: Nurturing future of mental healthcare
It was a privilege for the team at Samyak Mental Health Care, De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center to visit MIT World Peace University today and interact with an enthusiastic group of postgraduate students from M.Sc. Clinical Psychology, Master of Public Health (MPH), and M.Sc. Yoga and Meditation.
The session focused on “Models of Rehabilitation for Individuals with Addiction, Mental Illness, and Severe Mental Illness.” We discussed the continuum of care in mental health, evidence-based treatment modalities, rehabilitation models, multidisciplinary teamwork, relapse prevention, and the journey from illness to recovery.
Beyond the presentation, the session became a meaningful exchange of ideas. The students actively participated, asked thoughtful questions, and reflected on the challenges and responsibilities of working in the field of mental health. It was encouraging to witness their curiosity, commitment, and willingness to contribute to improving mental healthcare.
At Samyak Mental Health Care, De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center, we believe that strengthening future mental health professionals through academic engagement is an important step toward improving the quality of care available to individuals and families affected by mental illness and addiction.
We extend our sincere gratitude to MIT World Peace University for the opportunity to interact with such bright and motivated students. We look forward to many more collaborative initiatives that bridge academic learning with clinical practice.
