OPERATION SINDOOR
OPERATION SINDOOR
Reasons behind OPERATION SINDOOR.
· The Kargil War (1999)
· The 2001 Indian Parliament attack
· The 2008 Mumbai attacks
· The Uri attack (2016) and India’s surgical strikes
· The Pulwama attack (2019) and Balakot airstrikes
· Article 370 abrogation (2019) and its aftermath
Because of this terrorism of Pakistan India has been forced to carry out OPERATION SINDOOR.
Pakistan assumed that India’s silence, patience and neutral political approach as a sign of weakness.
Over the years, India has largely maintained a measured and restrained diplomatic posture, emphasizing peaceful dialogue and international norms. One key area where Pakistan has taken advantage is the consistent internationalization of the Kashmir issue. By putting forward this issue as a centre of attraction in front of the world ‘s stage Pakistan tried to manipulate many times.
Moreover, Pakistan’s alleged support for proxy wars and terrorism in India—especially through groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed—has continued despite strong evidence and international condemnation. India’s policy of restraint, especially prior to events like the 2016 Uri attack or the 2019 Pulwama incident, gave Pakistan space to operate without significant military retaliation. This emboldened Pakistan’s security establishment, which perceived India’s reluctance to escalate as a tactical advantage.
In conclusion, India’s long-standing silence and diplomatic restraint, though rooted in a desire for peace, have at times enabled Pakistan to act more aggressively on multiple fronts—diplomatic, military, and informational. A more assertive and timely response from India is increasingly being seen as necessary to counterbalance Pakistan’s exploitative strategies.
