Remembering those who cannot remember… ❤️ – दिल की कलम से
Yesterday was World Alzheimer’s Day—a day for remembering those who cannot remember.
The most important message is simple: the earlier the diagnosis, the better the prognosis and the better the opportunity for timely intervention and management.
Yesterday, Samyak had a beautiful cultural event organised by our staff and Samyak family members as part of our Ganesh Festival celebrations. And when we came to know that it was World Alzheimer’s Day as well, we made a small, completely spontaneous attempt to create awareness about dementia.
One of our Samyak family members took the initiative to script and enact a small skit on dementia, and I am truly very proud of her. ❤️
Dementia is not just about memory loss. It is a progressive condition that can affect memory, thinking, behaviour and day-to-day functioning. In Alzheimer’s disease, the degeneration of brain cells is progressive and currently irreversible, which makes early recognition and diagnosis extremely important.
Through this small skit, we at Samyak Rehabilitation Center tried to create awareness about dementia, its early symptoms and the importance of seeking medical help at the right time.
It was a small effort, but it was very well appreciated by our guests, and that made it even more meaningful.
Because sometimes, awareness is the first step towards care. ❤️
And on World Alzheimer’s Day, let us remember those who cannot remember.
